This year’s “Campus Weeks” – sponsored by the German Embassy Washington – presents a series of events directed at undergraduates at US universities and colleges. This year’s topic “Shaping Germany” focuses on the internal factors that are contributing to what Germany will look like in 20, 30 or 50 years. Events include a lecture series with national and international presenters, a bi-weekly film series on the topic of migration, and a self-guided poster exhibit. Head-On is a drama directed by Fatih Akin. Set in both Germany and Turkey, the film explores themes of identity and love as it follows a young woman’s struggles and her journey through life after cutting ties with her strict family.
