Blue-white Bavarian villages in Georgia? German accent in Texas? Lower Saxon car industry in Tennessee? Fulbright Germany provides three groups of Fulbrighters the opportunity to engage with heartland-Americans about all things German. Along their journey in VW camper vans, the groups meet up with local communities in a variety of informal get togethers.
This is an evening is all about cultural exchange within the surf community. The event starts with a screening of Headache, a movie made by German surfers on an adventure through the cold waters of Germany, Iceland, Scotland, and Denmark. Following the screening, German surfer Simone Schoemig speaks about how a surf culture emerged in a country that hardly has any consistent breaks.
