On October 5, Atlanta will host a uniquely German street party with authentic German food, hip-hop music, dance performances, and a luminous light-art show projected onto the Atlanta-Fulton Central Library, the last structure designed by Bauhaus-movement architect Marcel Breuer.
At the event, Germany-based artist collective URBANSCREEN will produce a light-art show, titled “Superposition,” that explores the German-American relationship by integrating architecture, digital art, dance, and hip-hop music from Atlanta’s thriving music scene. A mobile mini Oktoberfest, Wiesn in a Box, will be offering Hofbräu beer and fresh pretzels in its first of many stops along a nationwide tour. The event is free and open to the public.
