Representatives from Brandenburg Institute for Society and Security discuss the economic and employment situation in Germany since the financial crisis in 2008, long-term demographic trends in one of the most developed countries in the world, immigration and the refugee crisis in Germany of 2015/16. Speakers analyze these trends through the eyes of economists with a special focus on the security policy that accompanied these developments in Germany, and discuss how the differences in policy towards immigration and security affects the U.S.-German relationship.
