Political scientist Prof. Karl-Rudolf Korte, a frequent guest on German television as an election researcher, discusses his recent publication Gesichter der Macht (The Faces of Power), a study of the role of the federal president, and the elections in the federal states of Brandenburg, Thuringia, and Saxony. He is joined in conversation by Prof. Niko Switek to discuss how democracy narrates itself and what story will be told this fall in Germany given the far-right AfD party’s gains in the recent elections in Brandenburg and Saxony.
The discussion is held in the German language.
