Class Visit: "Fritz Ascher: Expressionist"

The Nazi regime forbade the Jewish artist Fritz Ascher to paint, so he resorted to pen and paper – the Gray Art Gallery in cooperation with the Fritz Ascher Society shows pictures and poems by the expressionist persecuted by the National Socialists (1893-1970).
As part of the program flanking the exhibition, Normandy Sherwood, Senior Language Lecturer in Expository Writing at NYU, takes his class to see the exhibit and learn about the life and work of Fritz Ascher, German art and German history.
