The Nazi regime forbade the Jewish artist Fritz Ascher to paint, so he resorted to pen and paper – the Gray Art Gallery in cooperation with the Fritz Ascher Society shows pictures and poems by the expressionist persecuted by the National Socialists (1893-1970).
Part of the program flanking the exhibition is an event for members of the German and American diplomatic and cultural communities with a tour through the exhibition followed by a reception at NYU’s Deutsches Haus.
