In Conversation: The Bauhaus, 100 Years Later

In 1919, the German Bauhaus school opened its doors. The school became a symbol for a modern art movement and spread its influence around the world after the dispersal of its members during World War II. One hundred years later we still find its omnipresent influence in design and architecture.
In celebration of the Bauhaus’ centennial the Hirshhorn Museum invites you to a discussion on the complex, and sometimes even problematic ways the Bauhaus ideals still infiltrate our culture across the world today.
